Today was a food prep frenzy!!! I needed to have my staples ready for the week, and wanted to try a couple new things! All the other items will be on my “Daily News” post. This post is all about the Orange Frappuccino Balls…prepare yourself for pure taste bud bliss!!
- 1 cup of dates
- 4 orange flavored dried plums (prunes)
- 1/3 c slivered almonds
- 1 TB unsweetened cocoa
- 2T brewed espresso
- 1T instant espresso/coffee granules
- Zest of an orange
Process the date, plums, and slivered almonds until they start forming a ball in the food processor. Add the cocoa and brewed espresso, blend again. The mixture will be sticky and soft so put it in the freezer for about 5 minutes to make it easier to handle.
Once out of the freezer, lay out the zest and coffee granules. Scoop about a tablespoon of mixture, roll in the granules (make sure to work them throughout the ball), then roll in the orange zest! The zest will also add a nice glaze to the balls! These are so amazing! Easy, raw, all natural and full of flavor! Next I will post about the other newbie I made today- Dark Chocolate Espresso Balls!
