Orange Frappuccino Balls!!!

Today was a food prep frenzy!!!  I needed to have my staples ready for the week, and wanted to try a couple new things!  All the other items will be on my “Daily News” post.  This post is all about the Orange Frappuccino Balls…prepare yourself for pure taste bud bliss!!

Who needs Starbucks when you can have these??!!

The Recipe:

  • 1 cup of dates
  • 4 orange flavored dried plums (prunes)
  • 1/3 c slivered almonds
  • 1 TB unsweetened cocoa
  • 2T brewed espresso
  • 1T instant espresso/coffee granules
  • Zest of an orange

Process the date, plums, and slivered almonds until they start forming a ball in the food processor.  Add the cocoa and brewed espresso, blend again.  The mixture will be sticky and soft so put it in the freezer for about 5 minutes to make it easier to handle.

So yummy!!!

Once out of the freezer, lay out the zest and coffee granules.  Scoop about a tablespoon of mixture, roll in the granules (make sure to work them throughout the ball), then roll in the orange zest!  The zest will also add a nice glaze to the balls!   These are so amazing!  Easy, raw, all natural and full of flavor!  Next I will post about the other newbie I made today- Dark Chocolate Espresso Balls!

Now go whip up a batch and tell me what you think!!!

  1. The pics are great! yummo

  2. You think it would be good without the coffee? Maybe I could put in chai tea powder. Hmmmm, looks delicious.

    • Amy, I think it would be good!! I used decaf because I am going through a non-caffeine stage right now. The chai would be awesome, especially with a little almond milk mixed in 🙂

  3. SO SO CLEVER!!! orange frappuccino- i LOVE IT!! i need to get some DATES!! why oh why did i never restock those!?

  4. Whoa! These sound soooo good. We use dates in a lot of recipes. My husband is going to be very happy I ran across this blog!
